How to embrace delayed gratification

A human has two types of goals for life which lead them to two different beings

“ A person we dream to be”and

“A person we want to be”

This phrases may sound similar on a logical sense but if you look closely this phrases differ a lot .

In your dreams you would be fantasizing over a self of you who is a millionaire, owns bunch of cars and properties, has lot of girlfriends .

You visualise yourself having lots of fun , hosting bunch of parties , drinking all night with your friends and having hookups with bunch of girls

In your next dream you visualise your own self grinding hard everyday, working on his dreams, giving his best at gym , meditating atleast an hour each day , in a healthy relationship with a wife quality women

Years pass by , you're a millionaire now , you own lots of car and properties, you're married to the women who was there in your worst , you have healthy kids and you're surrounded with brothers who led a similar lifestyle like you.

So out of the two which of your self’s life you would like to have ?

If you choice is the first life then sorry this email won't help you

But if your choice is the second life you are in the right place bro

This life can be achieved by embracing delayed gratification, so let me help you by giving you some ways to achieve it :-

1. “Love the journey”:- Rather than loving the goal and fantasizing about it start to love the process, take pride of every right step you take towards your goals .

  1. Be grateful for everything God has given you”:- Rather than focusing on the things you don't have be grateful for the things you have . To truly master it integrate a habit of gratitude journaling in your daily life . We will talk more about it in a separate email .

  2. Be the king of one trade rather than a jack of all trades”:- Focus on one big goal at a time and give it your all and most importantly dont ever change your goal just because it seems less shiny than other things in life

  3. Always prioritise your mental health over anything”:- without a proper mental health nothing really can be done efficiently , if you're strong up there it's next to impossible to derail you from your goals . It's a very huge topic which will also be covered in a separate email.

  4. Believe in your self”:- Don't doubt yourself , you’re the master of your own fate , don't let anyone tell you who you are , I believe in you!

  5. Reject any form of instant gratification”:- To embrace delayed gratification the first step would be to eliminate any form you instant gratification . Instant gratification is the complete opposite of delayed gratification and is our worst enemy to achieve greatness. It will be an hard process but I believe in you and I will shareing some tips too in upcoming emails

Now heres an action plan to kick of your journey to embrace delayed gratification

Firstly write off your goals in a sheet of paper and paste in a place where your eyes goes just after waking up

Secondly create a habit tracker in notion or you can follow a productivity system created by my fellow friend Niels , both of the tutorials will be linked down below.

lastly start gratitude journaling and meditation for atleast 30 second now only.
