law no. 1 “Never outshine the master”

The modern world is full of egoistic humans
They learn little and talk more
Always trying to brag their achievements and goals , without taking regard of the one listening to them
Do you know what happens to them
They learn little
Exposes themselves to their enemies
And most importantly
you make your seniors feel inferior
There's an interesting quote said by Alex Hormozi in one of the Chris Williamsons podcast , it goes by
“People only cheer you until you’re smaller than them , when you outgrow them, they show a feeling of resentment and envy towards you”
That's life man
People only root for the ones who are inferior to them
when you outgrow them they try to derail you from your goals rather than working on themselves
An individual who really doesn’t have such sort of power in the society isn’t your enemies , they are just mere side bushes who really can’t derail you from your journey
It’s rather the master or the superior to fear about
They are the one that hold the ability to derail you from your goals
They maybe own the things you want , the fame you dream of
They exert the power you crave for
Exposing yourself as a potential threat to them can lead to replacement or demotion of you
By someone less talented , a bit more concealing about his abilities than you
So to avoid this situation Robert Greene suggest
“Never outshine the master”
So this law consist of two rules that you must realize
Firstly , you can easily outshine your master just by being you . Just your charm and grace is more than enough , if you find hard to be charming avoid this masters or try to conceal your good qualities while you are with them .
second , never ever think that the master loves you and would let you do anything , the history books are full of stories of favorites who fell out of favor by taking their status for granted
For daring to outshine
knowing the dangers of outshining your master , gives you an unfair advantage
First use flattery to buff your master
prefer discreet flattery over overt flattery
less obvious , harder to judge
simply do mistakes which doesn't hurt your reputation , but allows your master to correct you and bestow his experience
or make him feel superior , act naive
If your ideas are more creative , ascribe them as if that your advice is merely just an echo of their vision
If you’re more social and generous than your master , always try to not be the cloud blocking their radiance towards other
Remember disguising your strength isn’t sign of weakness if it brings you power at the end
By letting others outshine you , you remain in control , instead of being the victim of theirs insecurities
This will pay off when you decide to rise above that inferior tag
If you will help your master to shine further , he will make sure that you are promoted further to keep you beside him .
This is the end of the first law , but before sigining of , there’s an CTA for you
Today only apply this tatics in your life , this tatics are mere words if you don’t take action
